I spent my early childhood years living on a dairy farm in Midwestern Ontario.  In 2016, at the age of 12, my family moved to the Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm, at which point I became responsible for assisting with maintaining a large farm property to a very high standard using a commercial mower and weed trimmers. Over the next few years my responsibilities increased as my skills developed, and I became a skilled equipment operator encouraged by my parents, Pam and Grant Martin.

In the fall of 2021, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for Countryside Contracting in their snow removal division. There, I learned how to operate a snow removal business to the highest standard, and the following spring I was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime to take over the snow removal business from Countryside Contracting and purchased the two tractors required. I also continued working full time for them over the summer which furthered my equipment operating skills.  

The winter of 2022/23, at the age of 18, was my first year running my own business doing snow removal as Cedar Valley Services. There were countless hours spent setting up the business, communicating with customers and preparing a route.  Along with my one employee who operated the other tractor, we spent countless hours plowing snow!

After the large ice storm in the spring of 2023, I recognized the need for brush removal services in the area – this led to expanding to offer multiple summer services such as lawn mowing, tree cutting and removal, stump grinding and many other yard services.
